PJI remember seeing Gene and the guys performing at Palisade Park in the band shell. This was around the early 60's The Charts were also there. I'm 70 now and going on a second date with a lovely woman and playing this song!

The lyrics in this song are so great. Men weren't afraid to sing about their hearts being captured... or even broken. When you hear songs written today, you can't even be sure men's hearts are capable of "beating fast"... :(The Jive Five were wonderful. I love this song and "My True Story".

The Jive Five is an American doo wop group. They are best known for their debut hit single, "My True Story" (1961), and the fact that they outlasted most of their doo wop musical peers, by re-modelling themselves as a soul group in the 1960s and beyond..............Eddie

Although I was a teenager when this came out, I am ashamed I had never heard it until the mid 1990's. I discovered it while listening to the late Joe Donovan on WHAS-AM 840, Louisville, KY, Joe played the oldies from midnight until 5AM. He introduced many of us to a lot of music that never made it to the Midwest. I am forever grateful to him for this particular single. Long live the artistry and health of (Eu) Gene Pitt.
