hey man i just pulled a masco ma17 amp out of an old barn, straight up just like american pickers. I brought the amp home, plugged it up, and to be sure the tubes lit up. This think was dirty as hell, so i cleaned it up. I found a old speaker that plugs right into the back. did you just plug your guitar into the phone jack? i plugged my guitar into it and it worked for a second. i gotta work on this thing cause its awesome. if you restored yours or have any advice let me know man

Beautiful, fluid, relaxed playing in Jimmy's best early 1950s style - these runs recur time and time again on Jimmy's tracks on his "best of" CD. Slightly contentious comment maybe: but I think Jimmy Rogers lost it as he got older; Muddy didn't, he was right there until the end, as was Robert Junior - but the later Jimmy Rogers stuff doesn't excite me, and the videos of Luther Tucker, the Myers brothers, Eddie Taylor leave me fairly cold - the classic 50s recordings were just magical.

Dude, you must have missed the Antone's CD, "Ludella". Ask Mark to dub you a copy. ;)

@fmarken I disagree. This stuff is fantastic and Wilson is THE cat for this style of harp-guitar interplay. :).

Please, please, please do a DVD and book. There must be at LEAST five guys out there who would snap it up. I know I would! Seriously, though, I bet you'll be getting a call from Kim Wilson onea these days - this stuff is THE SHIT for us harp players.

Sick, I'm falling in love with this old school style of playing the more I hear it. The main reason is that I like the fact that you do your own backing while playing lead guitar. Keeps the brain working and the music never gets boring.
