Amapola " Jimmy Dorsey 's orchestra , what an interseting recording ! large and quiet as usual. This song appeared in 1924, and here we probably have a faithful version , closed to the early time, in north america.I do appriciate jimmy Dorsey, but in that case i prefere so much the 1940 recording with Deana Durbin, such a beautifull woman from the bigining to the end, living, joyfull, and sunny, whom is closed to the musical reality of south america and its soul. Not so closed as libertad lamarque, of course, but the most possible in a shared regard.Any way, i am glad to learn that other version , a piece of musical anthologie , peacefull , sung at the bigining by a tipical jazz voice in those years.Amapola means in French:" Quolquelicot", a red and fragile flower which grows up into the fields, a sunny flower. Thanks to you, again !
