Jimmy Buffett - Back To The Island video free download
On this video, I tried something new by using a series of still photos to create the feeling of motion. I am not your typical Jimmy Buffett fan but I do like some of his music including this song which was not one of his more popular songs. It comes from his 2004 Album, Licence To Chill. On this album, Jimmy kind of abandoned his typical "Buffett" sound for a more commercial sound which some of his fans didn't like. On his song, "Simply complicated" Jimmy sings, "Am I county, pop or rock and roll...I know they are related."

Yes everyone knows that Leon Russell wrote this song, and I love his version, but does that mean that someone else can't record it and have a little fun with it ? I doubt that anyone playing with Buffett would have a problem with an augmented D or anything else. Timothy Schmitt played with Buffett for awhile, JB has great musicians. @carann5 No maybe's. Jimmy is the best at his own music, but Leon Russell's version of this song can't be touched. Jimmy's version lacks any passion compared to Leon's. I think its cool he covered it though-its such an awesome song, and it fits Jimmy's island theme.12 years ago

This is pleasant, and seems in line with the other stuff Buffett has done, but in my opinion it pales in comparison to the Leon Russell original. "Back To The Island" is my all time favorite Russell recording.12 years ago
