Original recording (by the Band Of Gypsys) 11.17.69 --- was reworked and remade by Jimi, Billy, & Juma during June, July, and August 1970. A final mix was made on Aug. 20th. Jimi wasn't happy with the sound of Buddy's drums (recorded at the Record Plant) but was told, by Eddie Kramer, that the sound could be properly modified at Electric Lady Studios. Eddie wasn't involved until the overdubbing and reworking started in the summer of 1970.

Really nice alternate mix of one of my favorite Hendrix songs. The bass on this mix is very powerful..........Love it!.........IN THE MEANTIME, WHICH IS A GROOVY TIME...............

listening in car the bass and guitar blend in together that it sounds amazing. I would think it was Hendrix on bass, but on headphones and this mix the parts can be heard separate. Do you know how many versions of this song there are? I he and b cox Jammed with some other drummer and a guy on percussion or congas.

Being that this version was recorded by the Band of Gypsys, I would assume Billy Cox.

Much better than the Rainbow Bridge mix. The various guitar parts stand out more clearly. Next a remix of "Pali Gap" would be welcome ....
