I'd give half of my life for composing as good as Master Steinman, or that Steinman composes for me... lucky Meat :P

Steinman's own versions have always seemed a little... thin, to me. Not necessarily from the vocals, but the whole production. The bottom line is, they are a musical partnership that simply belong together, and neither are quite 'right' without the other. This is still a god damn outstanding song though, probably one of my very favourites.

I'm sorry, but I just think that meat loaf's version was better.

As much as I love Meat Loaf's version, this one just feels like it's got a bit more of a darker edge to it.

Hey listen up people Jim and Meat are, were a partnership after all Jim wrote the songs for Meatloaf. It was down to ill health, commitments that led Jim to record this fantastic album. He wrote them so his interpretation will be different, why would he pick Meatloaf to sing them?

That's right and also almost all of Meatloaf's hits were written by Jim.

I love Jim's voice better than Rory's! or Meat's. I wish I could see Jim live, it would make my life.

Never heard this version before (only the Meatloaf one) - I love Steinman though so thanks for introducing me to this!

Jim Steinman may not be as good as a vocalist as Meat Loaf but he is a true lyrical genius.

I am partial to Jim Steinman especially 'Rock and Roll Dreams comes through' Though as an artist Meatloaf is superior, But remembe that it was Jim who wrote all this great music for Him and others

Where can I find an instrumental (karaoke) version of this song? If someone can help me I'd GREATLY appreciate it.

I like both Steinman and Meatloaf. Often I prefer Steinman (Bad for Good, Rock and Roll Dreams), but generally yeah I like both of them just for the power and the message you know?

I like this version a lot. Better than Meat's? Eh...they both have their merits. Can't say one is better, personally. I've always found this to be an extremely inspirational song, ever since I first listened to it as a kid. "C'mon, c'mon, an' there'll be no turning back, You were only killing time and it can kill you right back. C'mon, c'mon it's time to burn up the fuse You've got nothing to do an' even less to lose." Words to live by, no matter the situation.
