Elvis' version is my favorite, but this one probably is prettier. I think it brings out the sadness more than Elvis'. My favorite sad Jim Reeves song is "Am I Losing You".

I believe Gentlemen Jim did a better job on this song than Elvis did. Iam a country music fanatic and it would figure. I love country and Blue grass Christmas music. It is from the heart and the feeling is so great when these people that play simple good music do these songs. I am trying to find an album of them now. Kind of hard to find here in Florida where getting anything is a job. Jim Reeves and Jim Ed Brown both recorded Blue Christmas and they both beat Elvis on this one song.
