This is Jim Eanes signature song originaly recorded for Capital Records in 1949 after winning a talent contest orginised by this record lable. It was released on a 78 with another original composition of Jim's You Better Wake Up. Just after his period as a bluegrass boy with Bill Monroe, he rerecorded this song at least twice during his long career. He was very proud that the song was also featured on the award winning album of Doc Watson.
