Jim and Maurie rockin. I need some help with some of the licks in this tune. I can't find any decent tab, nor any good covers on youtube. Buy their DVD - support their families, don't just download everything.

No played lead acoustic guitar as brilliantly and sweetly as Maury. No-one ever will.

I miss Jim Croce & Maury Muehleisen. What a profound tragedy to lose Jim & Maury on the same day. I alway thought of this song as his best. Rare and exceptional talent shown here and in every performance. This was music that came entirely from the heart and from life's experience. Makes today's pop selections seem pretty pale by comparison. Maury was such an integral part of Jim's sound, with that Martin guitar and those string bends and old two-note R & B runs all over the fingerboard.

Check out Pete Huttlinger's Series "How to Play the Songs of Jim Croce." He shows Maury's leads and fills on this song. Both volumes are really well done.

In my life I've not encountered a songwriter who's lyrics were so perfect. What a story teller.

Ah, "to be in love is to suffer..." That's what romantic love is to me - when your partner's happiness is more important than your own. Thanks for connecting me to this song. Obviously I'd heard the song before, but never seen this performance. Always a big Jim Croce fan! Please see my Comment below. Have a great day and as always, gracias por la musica, amigo! Mark

No Shizzle Jim Croce was way more talented than Mr. Dogg (or Lion or whatever he's calling himself this week) will ever be. Even as a kid I liked Jim Croce's music. Here in London ON, CJBK-AM had a Jim Croce Salute on Saturday Nov.29,1975. I called in an won his The Faces I've Been Double Album. I was 13 then and thrilled! FYI: Top 6 singles - Feelings, Island Girl, Tonight is a Wonderful Time, That's The Way I Like It, Nights on Broadway, Bad Blood. #1 Album - Rock of the Westies - Elton John

One of my all-time favorite lyics is in this song: "If that's the way that you want it, that's the way I want it more". It just sums up a lover's frustration, resignation, and acceptance better than any line I've ever heard before or since. I always remember this line for inspiration in my life. Thanks to Mr. Croce for this song, and thanks to the uploader for putting it on YouTube!
