LYRICS

EVE

JIM CAPALDI - 1972

Eve, there's a woman in your eyes

Ooo Eve you made me realize

Eve give me a smile

Ooo Eve you're only a child

But it's making me turn my head all the time

'cause looking at your face is like seeing the sunshine

Eve I'll never let you down

Ooo Eve I'll always be around

And it's making me turn my head all the time

'cause looking at your face is like seeing the sunshine

Eve give me a smile

Ooo Eve you're only a child

Steve Winwood was so right when he described his dear friend Jim as a poet....This song gets me every time I hear it.....

WOW! I almost forgot this song existed. From the pen of the co-author of another classic, "Low Spark Of The High-Heeled Boys". Why don't we hear it on stations anymore? :-( Released on March 25, 1972, reaching # 91 on April 29. Thanks for the memories of 1972.

It´s fascinating to notice how much George Harrison feeling there is in this Jim Capaldi marvelous tune. "Eve" is a soft jewel.

For my ears Jim Capaldi was better songwriter than Steve Winwood. Oh How We Danced is one of all time favorites.

Played this on our campus radio station back in the day.  A great instrumental close ala "Layla."
