The new Jex Thoth album is really good. Really. It's different from their debut album in a fundamental way. Moodier, yet somehow less doom-y. But still driven so centrally by Jex that one cannot escape her familiar thread woven into the fabric of sound. She's an exceptionally dynamic artist. I'll be looking forward to whatever comes next.

So long, princess. Enjoy your silence. And when the voices in your head start screaming again you will be too far out to come back. Because I carry my own silence now.

OK I will concede Rosalie Cunningham is a real artist, I have seen her play guitar and she is an amazing singer. Purson really is the best of the occult bunch these days.

Actually, Rosalie Cunningham (Purson) sings and plays guitar. "The Circle and the Blue Door" is a very well-written album, both lyrically and musically. The guitar and bass tone alone have that warm vintage sound that coats the eardrums like butter on warm toast. Your protestations have the sound of lack of experience with the actual albums.

Jex Thoth, Blood Ceremony, Purson, Jess and the Ancient Ones, Blues Pills, yadayadayada occult rock. Does anybody see a formula here? A hot girl who can sing swinging her locks and wailing all sexy in front of dudes on guitars ( who probably also just want to fuck the hot girl). "Hot chick occult rock" is a bandwagon that will soon run out of gas. And if you think Jex or any of these other chicks is a real witch, you're just as phony as they are. BTW I dub this phony shit Broadway Doom.

No, there are other people too but they usually don't bother with commenting, they just listen what they like. That's something you should try, I think your life would be much happier.
