I know many of us look at this perspective and find discomfort, but it is truly a wonderful and artful capturing of a very specific part of our humanity. The relationship between divinity and humanity is given us so clearly here in this short video. See how the crowd is drawn to her divinity which is seen only in separation. As they approach , and get real close, the allusion dissipates and she is but a human being at the point of contact. See some of the hands, they want to reach out and touch, and many do, but during the very action of reaching, many wilt and fall short in the realization, that the God which is just in their reach, by the sheer act of reaching out and touching her, she is made mortal in the contact. That one heavy set man really comes to this realization, being that he does not even avail himself to look at her in the eyes and face, as he is blinded by the realization of the Goddess in the Flesh. Jewel has written in piety and poetry "I love you over there", and she has covered the lyrics "God is watching us from a distance", certainly this are truths revealed in this awkward truth telling moment. And yes, Jewel, I know you 'lurk' from time to time reading the obscure, I am the Fireman you met several times over the years, knowledgable such are you. Chris

Foot worship, what an interesting experience, I wonder if Jewel has ever been given the experience of groveling upon another human being?, I suppose she has loaded herself up with enough Karma in producing so much idol upon others, she should perhaps have the experience of falling to her knees in worship of another human being or perhaps a 'messiah' as she has said it.

Wow! What an interesting perspective the camera angle brings to this performer revealing her truly connecting with the audience. She not only allows them to touch her constantly but somehow does not get distracted while sharing her innermost feelings with her talent. This is what being fully present in a moment is all about. The camera stays off her face (probably because of logistics) but magically also keeps us viewers of the film engaged with the reactions to her song. I've only been to one live show Jewel did on March 10, 2103 at Merrill Auditorium in Portland, Maine. Loved it. But is was different, most likely because she is in a different place now with her life as we can all relate, things change, people change, priorities chance. But hey, it's all good.As a part time solo guitar and vocalist playing at pubs and events in Maine, I not only enjoyed her show but also learned by watching how she stays in the moment not rushing her songs and I also love how she doesn't use a strict set list. That's what I like to do, just feel what the next best song would be to do in the moment by reading the audience and how I'm feeling. Love this and thanks so much Jewel for uploading this and yet another lesson I can use to grow. On fear.... I liked this quote I saw the other day: "Fear is the disease, hustle is the anecdote" - Travis Kalanick co-founder of Uber.
