Billykid51410 - Maybe he accidently heard the song played from the hugely selling album on the radio, at a party, hummed by a fellow Eaglet? other musician?? It was not only played at Concerts with Eagles and Tull. That said, both songs are great. By the way, have you listened to Charlie Daniels "Reflections"? Chas's song it great as well. At the end of the day, this is what makes music so interesting...... just enjoy!

Love Tull especially the 70s. Stand Up is awesome. Ian in my opinion is the best frontman in rock next to Jagger. All my friends were Zep fans and while Plant has a great voice and lyrics he couldn't hold a candle to Ian in concert.

This had to be a truly amazing show. The line up that night was It's A Beautiful Day, Jethro Tull and The Who.

Felder wasn't even in The Eagles when they toured with Tull so they couldn't have stole it then

yea, i caught the resemblance, [quite a few yrs ago] very similar progressions. but this is TULL, and HC is a totally diff song...just uses some of the same chord progressions...i loved TULL since the early `70s!

i am sure he did...it is the original chord structure that was borrowed...hsi original guitar work is clear cut and original no argument.

I am not trying to be a smart ass here but according to felders book he came up with the guitar part to hotel whilst sitting on a chair stairing out at the oceon from his malibu beach house.

Hotel CA...is credited to Jenley and Frey..but Felder added the disctinctive sound on guitar. Felder was NOT in The Eagles when they toured with Tull in 1971..so you have to wonder if henley/.Frey played this song to Felder and thus created Hotel Ca signature sound..interesting.
