Haunting, lyrical jazz genius... whenever I hear this song, it never fails to give me goosebumps!

Excelente Ian Anderson y Glenn Cornick en bajo. La mejor adaptación de una pieza de Bach al estilo rock y folk.

great video even if the audio was the studio track. Any idea why they'd not do it live?

They did a transcription of Glenn Cornicks Bass line to Bouree in June 2011 Bass Player Magazine. This was recorded at Olympic in London. All other "Stand Up" tracks were done at Morgan Studio in London. Bouree was a last minute addition to the album. Bass solo was recorded in the dead of night at Olympic & was last principal recording done for LP. Ian had been jamming with the melody. Arranged & recorded track in 8 hour session. Amazing!!!

@tonbridgeman yeah..agreed...I shudder to think about all the classic stuff the BBC (who I usually have the greatest respect for) could have erased from their archives (whether by design or accidentally), because I'm fairly sure some masterpieces unfortunately went down the tubes. Thank God some still survive~ and u gotta give the french props for keeping this one. Ian and Tull in their peak period of creativity:)

@richrol58 In an interview with Roger Taylor, he said on Top of the Pops they gave him a set of practise drums that just made a tapping sound when he hit them. I've never heard anything about the other players in that kind of situation.

It´s time for Johann Sebastian Bach.

Jethro Tull did a great arrangement of a classic Bach piece. The TV set suits them well too.

Nice bass playing. Good to see French TV kept this old footage unlike the Beeb who loved to wipe everything.
