Lyrics:

Sitting on the park bench,

Eyeing little girls,

With bad intent.

Snot is running down his nose,

Greasy fingers smearing,

Shabby clothes.

Hey Aqualung

Drying in the cold sun,

Watching as the frilly panties run.

Hey Aqualung

Feeling like a dead duck,

Spitting out pieces of his

Broken luck.

Oh Aqualung

Sunstreaking cold, an old man wandering lonely,

Taking time the only way he knows.

Leg hurting bad, as he bends to pick a dog end,

He goes down to the bog and warms his feet.

Feeling alone, the army's up the road,

Salvation a-la mode and a cup of tea...

Aqualung my friend, don't you start away uneasy?

You poor old sod, you see it's only me...

Do you still remember December's foggy freeze?

When the ice that clings onto your beard is clinging agony?

And you snatch your rattling last breaths with deep sea diver sounds?

And the flowers bloom like madness in the spring.

(SOLO)

Dee-dee-dee....dee-dee-dee

Aqualung my friend, don't you start away uneasy?

You poor old sod, you see it's only me.

Sitting on the park bench,

Eyeing little girls,

With bad intent.

Snot is running down his nose,

Greasy fingers smearing,

Shabby clothes.

Hey Aqualung

Drying in the cold sun,

Watching as the frilly panties run.

Hey Aqualung

Feeling like a dead duck,

Spitting out pieces of his

Broken luck.

Hey Aqualung...

Martin Barre plays this guitar solo as a Master can do it. It is a legendary solo! Fantastic!

Ol' friend of Ian's. He was the only Gentlman after concert in Houston, TX at Summit when at the hotel..he looked tired..we all were quiet. Ian sat in a chair with two couches beside him and I just sat and looked at him and him at me...I felt honor for him. Such a sweet man! Miss you, Ian.

On my way home from work, sometimes I like to swing by Five Guys Burgers And Fries, where they have the Classic Rock satellite radio station playing at high volume since it's the last hour before they close.A small group of bearded hipsters and one (unbearded) female hipster were in there tonight, sporting what looked like some fairly recent hipster tattoos while they enjoyed the easy, convenient camaraderie that is afforded those confident that they will always be assured a group of others that look and dress exactly like them that they can feel they belong to while feeling superior to everyone else. They also enjoyed the Classic Rock that was playing, but only ironically.Tonight's classic rock tunage that greeted me as I walked into Five Guys was Jethro Tull's "Aqualung" or, as Charlottesville knows the track, "Kai Saffron's Theme Song".I had to hear it, so now you do too. Suck it up. Besides, it's not that bad if you haven't heard it in awhile.#BenchSaturday

Dude, did you SERIOUSLY type (Dafuq?) after MELLOTRON????? Are you surprised that this artist played mellotron, or that an instrument called a mellotron exists? Mellotrons were the precursor to the digital synthesizer. But instead of a digital memory bank of tones, mellotrons used cartridges of tapes which produced the sound of an instrument (or instruments) when a keyboard was played . They are VERY tempermental instruments that react badly to heat/cold/humidity.

Mate! I know what a mellotron is, I'm just surprised that mellotron parts exist throughout the album I sure as hell didn't notice them

Mate! What? Get on wiki and educate yourself on Mellotrons! Its like the mother of all sampler instruments.
