She was on the same label as Mariah Carey at the time and so I always thought she would be groomed to follow in her footsteps, but they took a different turn with her by her second album and it made no sense to me! Her first album was more successful than this second one and she was more herself on the first album and not trying to be like Britney or Christina....Why try and be like these other girls instead of staying in the niche she was in? She could have grown to be even more successful if her label wasn't having her compete so hard with Britney and Christina...Britney was pop and couldn't really sing all that great, Christina was a powerhouse but she liked to mix it up a little, Jessica could have been the soulful one

At the time female Popstars were too busy trying to keep up with Britney Spears ..almost all of them are irrelevant now because of that particular reason these shitty basic pop tracks are so bland instead of waiting for something more creative & originalit was too competitive but now look at them they not the bacon winners anymore.. no reason too either, but Britney Spears is legendary for her career always.. Jess, Mandy, Xtina etc.. they were all knock offs & not in a bad way but labels tried to grab a piece of BritneyMania for their own Popstars where are they now ?! on some reality tv show lmao ...
