Will be in Okemah Oklahoma Woody's birthplace this week-end for The Woody Guthrie Free Folk Festival. Wonderful festival held there every year on the week-end of his birthday!!!!!

The lyrics and tune and are very close, but then I vaguely remember hearing Guthrie and Ledbetter used to appropriate stuff from each other. I was expecting the later song Guthrie recorded under the same title. It's yr typical outlaw ballad and the tune and lyrics are different. He re-wrote it with the same tune and lyrics as 'Jesus Christ', which is worth searching YT for!
