I had occasion to speak to Jerry's manager/producer a few years ago. He told me that Jerry had a stroke several years before, couldn't remember lyrics to songs anymore, and just gave up performing. Very sad.

I was so lucky to see both Jerry Vale and Al Martino on the same nickel in Albany NY about 12 years ago. Both my favorite singers, now Al is gone Jerry has retired, recordings are all we have forever. thanks for posting

Your right, Jerry was from a time when a great voice plus a great song was the norm. Today on "American Ideal" a good voice his a hinderence. Simon will say that your to old fashion. What a shame when talet is out of fashion.
