mra7...we call the addition of water(preferably spring or creek) water to our likker as ''tempering'' the right temper will make or break a shiner because it is what gives the shine the unique flavor...oh another thing, not only will it burn but if you vaporize it you can blow stuff up..ive lost my facial hair a time or two...)11 years ago

The absolute max for moonshine is 95% alcohol. It is impossible without the help of an addititve (most of which are poisonous) to make 100% ALCOHOL. Most moonshine is less than this ideal 95% because that would require additional equipment, My dad bought his first vehicle 80 years ago to run moonshine for my grandfather (his father -in-law). actually... no it's not. it has to have SOME water or else it'll kill you after the first few sips because it'll shrivel up your blood cells. a REAL moonshine maker will put a little bit of water in there.11 years ago
