Jerry with Jackie Deshannon and Glen Campbell. Ever wonder where Jerry got the idea for the tune "When You're Hot You're Hot"? This is where it came from.

At 2:16 for the key change, Jerry slides his capo up 3 frets, and keeps on truckin. Very clever !

Don't know if this has been said before, but a lot of people don't know that this very performance is where Jerry got the idea for "When You're Hot You're Hot". See watch?v=Bzewk-FMgS0 to hear Jerry explain what happened :) Epic video!

@Bumptiously it might not be a tambourine. I can't be sure, but it might be a smaller rhythm instrument with just a few "zils" (metal doodads) or maybe somebody playing spoons.

@moseyalong1 I heard Jerry say in an interview that he forgot the words so he threw in the joke, "when you're hot you're hot".. and that in what inspired him to write his hit song!

At about 2:00 Jerry R. ad libs as a joke on Glen and Jackie. I don't think they knew this was coming and both started laughing. it was, probably, unscripted and typical Jerry Reed humor. I love this video.

OK, I know this is extra geeky but: did anyone else notice the extreme skills by the tamborine player at 2:27? It's only two measures, but that person is syncopating into sixteenth notes with a VERY DIFFICULT instrument to control. Wow. I've only heard something like this once before...it's like some radical gospel tamborine playing or something.

actually, it's the riff from "Jerry's Breakdown". Buy the original vinyl 1972 "Me and Chet" or see them play it together on Pop Goes the Country 1975 episode. Also for fun check out "Four Hands Guitar" by tommygauthier. You can find the tabs if you look at gewerh44 version on youtube.

Kids these days do not know what good entertainment is. Who ever thought reality TV was a good idea? !! So, glad i grew up during the good ole days.

With all the networks available these days, and all these old shows and concerts to air again and again, they all keep spewing out reality crap TV every day. Go figure.
