I think he deserved the win. He wasn't the best competitor technically, but his solo was beyond clean no mistakes at all. I think a big thing that separated him was the opening and the ending. The beginning was a very creative idea open with 20th century fox like a movie almost. And it ended bad ass as well grabbing the hi hat and walking away. He just executed his solo the best and showed the most confidence. I think he deserved it that's just me tho.

Personally I think Jerome killed it here, and I can honestly see why he won. (Maybe somebody pointed this out already, I don't know, lol) See, playing a drum solo is like telling a story. (Examples: the 20th century Fox intro, and the Mission impossible groove following that). He started off strong but smooth, reached a climax, then ended strong as well! This is why honestly, I would cite Jerome Flood's solo as an example of how each drummer who enters the competition should approach their performance....... But that's just me, lol.

I would love to see something new and interesting. I'm very tired of the same Dennis chamberesque solo coming from a dude wearing a gospel chops tuxedo. It was fun and exciting in 2002. It has stagnated since 2004. They should ask Jesus to help them be more creative. Was that mean? I don't care.

Guys I just now noticed after watching this video since it first came out that around 4:45 he switches from his lead foot on the bass pedal to his left foot.

Jerome definitely has my favorite technique of all the guitar center contestants. It's so cool to just watch.

If I was in a Drum-Off and I saw someone doing this stuff, I would just get the heck out of there.
