I agree it was great, but many acts were forced to mime, Jemini weren't particularly serious anyway

A lot of pop artists did mime on top of the pops but they were not made to mime by the show. Perhaps there record label or management did. Plenty of people sang live on top iof the pops! It was a great show! They should bring it back!

I agree that they lost purely cos of the Iraq thing, but that doesn't hide the fact that it's a crap song and was a terrible performance. You say that something went wrong in the Eurovision performance...yet even this version sounds just as out of tune as that one. Lightning doesn't strike twice.

Admitedly it's nothing all that special, but it doesn't deserve the reputation it has for being soooo bloody awful that it made such a furore at the time. I would argue the Iraq thing brought them down every time and the spector of neighbourly voting is also a curse to the whole contest. Once countries start voting on the basis of the song and nothing else again I don't think there's much point. Otherwise they should just bringback the council composed of judges from every eurovision nation.

@joergi35 They were sabotaged, it was clear. They came into the contest as favourites (joint with Russia) and she looked down at her microphone and she knew something had gone wrong. Apparently the backing track was switched off in the middle of their performance and, as such, they found this hard song to sing VERY hard. They pulled it back together towards the end but by then the damage was done. Post-Iraq backlash didn't help either.
