Title: Can't Find Love (track 06)

Artist: Jefferson Starship

Album: Winds of Change

Year: 1983

Label: Grunt/RCA

Writer(s): Grace Slick, Monica Clemans, Mickey Thomas, Craig Chaquico

Lyrics:

Can't find love

Can't find love

Can't find love

Can't find love

When there is nothing to believe in

Biting on the lonely bullet

'cause you

Can't find love

Counting all the heartless stars

at night

One by one

Try to keep your heart from breakin'

'cause you

Can't find love

Tasting all the tears you cry

at night

One by one

When there is nothing to believe in

You can't find love all alone

You can't find love all alone

Running through the sleepless

nights 'cause you

Can't find love

Cry away the lonesome day

'cause you

Can't find love

Crowded into solitary with the

Lonesome ones

Love could set your heart on fire if it

Would return

With something you can believe in

You can't find love all alone

You can't find love all alone

Find love, find love

Well, come on

Find love, find love

Well, come on -- well, come on

You can't find love all alone

You can't find love all alone

Walk fine talk fine do it if it feels

fine but don't say no

Walk fine talk fine do it if it feels

fine but don't say no

Fat ass no class so bad she'll never

pass but don't say no

Slow kind fast kind do it till it

wrecks your mind but don't say no

Take some make some do it till you

make her come but don't say no

Inside outside no one gets a free ride

but don't say no

My time your time

What amazing hope and energy this song stirs in me!

I've always loved the ending of this song. It certainly perked my innocent young ears then. I think Berlin's Sex song was the 1st kinda sexual mainstream, past the normal radio wholesomeness, that I was conditioned to hearing before this song.

THERE HAS TO BE HOPE TO FIND LOVE AGAIN..ONCE WE HAVE LOST THE ONE WE HAVE DIED FOR, FOR LIFE...WE ALL THINK THAT WE CANT FIND SOMEONE ELSE.DAMN, THATS WHAT LOSING MY XBITCH/WIFE DID TO ME AND THEN WORSE, KITTY... THERE ALWAYS HAS TO BE HOPE ...WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT IT BUT NOT EASY...AND HAVE TO LIVE FOR OURSELVES, THATS ONE THING I HAVE FOUND OUT BEING DIVORCED FOR 10 YRS...LOOK OUT FOR NUMBER ONE..AND IF NUMBER 2 COMES ALONG, WERE LUCKY..BUT WATCH OUT..THEY ARE BITCHES...

The best, but least remembered era of this band. They had some great tunes in the Freedom at Point Zero through Nuclear Furniture era before they dropped the "Jefferson" from the "Starship' and lost their balls in the process. "Jane", Find Your Way Back", "Stranger", Can't Find Love", "No Way Out", and "Layin It On The Line' are all classics of the era and still sound great to this day. When they changed their name again, they still had hits, but sounded much more like generic 80's pop.

This song should have been a Rock and Roll Anthem! If this tune doesn't get your blood flowing, neither will life support.
