jeff's playing is great on most of his records,thats why we all listen to them but it would be nice if he had better muscians on his records.because his records will never be as good as jimi's eric's and jimmy's.the song comes first,then the playing.very interesting player though.

Jeff is the original 'Guitar Hero" -- he is the model going back to the Yardbirds.What a humble and kind and funny person he seems -- impish, y'know?Jimi told Chas he would go to England with him on one condition.That he get to meet Jeff and Eric.Jeff awoke one morning to have his girl tell him he had to see this amazing(!?) guitarist over from America. He thought that was a bit demoralizing. But he went and said that it was like an earthquake. As he was leaving the club , Pete Townsend was walking in -- he said,"he's doing all our stuff, mate..."Jeff says that he thought he was out of a job.They became fast and true friends, of course.One reason he has given for stopping recording and touring back in the mid-80's was that he STILL missed Jimi and he was tired of soldiering on, alone. He said that HE had no one to look up to really....Jeff has been relentless - tireless - in running thru every door Jimi had opened and even found some ones on his own.Now he is the Penultimate Artist -- or Musical Adventurer as he likes to call himself -- not a guitarist.You can hear his love for Jimi all over the place -- like the final notes of 'God Save The Queen"at Wembley 2010. If there ever was, or is, a true KING OF KINGS of electric guitar players, Jeff Beck would be it. I love Vai, Satch, Petrucci, Gilbert, all of them. But, I've never heard anyone make a guitar sound like Jeff Beck can. Mindblowing.

hi jeff i am a lefty and doubt i will ever have a really good guitar so i was hoping you could donate a nice strat to me maybe 1 with a 70's headstock? that would be awesome man even just 1 old scabby 1's you dont play i will restring it and play it upside down, as you say they came down the chimney, cool very cool cheers jeff. also if your reading this eric well then same thing sir have a look about must be a wee strat sitting there doing nothing cheers guys
