He was 29 years old. An autopsy revealed that he died of cocaine toxicity with alcohol as a contributing factor.

Poor guy died in his sleep. He influenced me quite a bit! I almost know how to play "my shadow" its not hard but the guitar is well blended into the song to figure out what the chords are..but I have a subject of what it sounds like..can't find any good tabs for my shadow..but oh its such a shame is as well a great song. RIP Jay Retard you are and will be missed :(
