I'm a pretty big fan of Jann Arden. Love this tune. Jann and Jay are both gay, so what I get from this song is that they just want to be themselves, "facing forward be yourself" I think Jann was maybe tired of pretending to be someone else, "cardboard, masks of all the ppl I've been" She has a Mom and Dad that love her and it dosent make her any different, she is a person who is loved and just wants to be loved for who she is.
