Yes there are similarities in the music, but come on Dierks' Home is so much better. The music itself is fleshed out and improved and the words speak for themselves. So please all you whiners give it a rest.

If you think Dierks Bentley has ANYTHING on Jason Isbell as a musician, singer, or songwriter, do us all a favor and donate your body to science. And yes, that fucking Home song has essentially the same melody and chord progression. It's just in a different key.

This is a good song, but only has minor similarities to "Home" by Dierks Bentley. The plot of the song is completely different and just a few similarities in the chorus.

"Dierks is a douchebag. The song of Dierks is called ‘Home." I wish he wouldn't have stopped drinking, or at least wouldn't have written it in a song so people will think he's an alcoholic. The people that hired Dierks Bentley have no taste. And I'm not drunk.

I would have never heard of him besides the Home controversy, but now that I've listened I bought a few of his songs on ITunes....so it's all good

Sounds pretty country to me, a million times more country than anything Luke bryan, jason Aldean, geogia line, or any of that new garbage they play on the radio, it sounds kinda like some of the old slow stuff

Jason Isbell's "Southeastern" is the best CD of the year. Worth every penny, money will spent.

Borderline personality disorder is often called the, "I hate you, dont leave me," mental illness. It hits primarily young women who have issues with abandonment and almost always involves cutting. Jason Isbell touches on all the issues that someone has when dealing with a cutter.

He didn't write home at all. He doesn't write his own music. He just sings it.

@earthlyradiodotcom "it's an honor for someone to use your songs?" i wouldn't even take the time to check your page out bc you sound like a fucking idiot. "your songs" i'd hate to hear anything from a douche like you much less do i actually believe anyone would play "your songs" bc i'm gonna go out on a limb and say you don't have any. Do yourself a favor and shut the fuck up!

Then you're an idiot. Chords are one thing. But when you talk about melody, chords, and vocal phrasing, it's a different story. When the only thing that's different is the tempo and lyrics, you have a sample. And a sample deserves credit. Isbell should get credit for everything but Durks Bently's horrible lyrics.
