Le Dan Theman Playlists

#danthemanplaylists LYRICS:I saw her in Roosevelt Springs, where time doesn't touch anythingShe never did say she could sing, but I figured it soI needed some company then, not sisters or children or menThat's a hell of a spot to be in, but she put me in towMoney and liquor and lust had taken my heart and my trustI could see ashes and dust were headed my wayShe tended bar in the townHer alto settled me downI started hanging aroundDidn't need much to sayShe smelled like cigarettes and wineAnd she kept me happy all the timeI know that ain't much of a linebut it's the Gods' own truthShe lives down inside of me stillRolled up like a twenty dollar billShe left me alone with these pillsIn the last of my youthWings on her shoulders and feet, a bar on Gethsemane StreetI took time to plan my retreat, and backed out the doorI must be attracted to those who've witnessed a man in the throesOf life that ain't grindstone to nose, but pedal to floorShe smelled like cigarettes and wineAnd she kept me happy all the timeI know that ain't much of a lineBut it's the Gods' own truthShe lives down inside of me stillRolled up like a twenty dollar billShe left me alone with these pillsIn the last of my youthLost on the dry side of townMy memories slowing me downShe shook me and I came aroundI came back to lifeWith nary a mother or dadShe showed me what I never hadThe princess of leaves, she gets sad'Cause I won't take a wifeShe smelled like cigarettes and wineAnd she kept me happy all the timeI know that ain't much of a lineBut it's the Gods' own truthShe lives down inside of me stillRolled up like a twenty dollar billShe left me alone with these pillsIn the last of my youth

:-) it is really similar for sure....But Tom Waits wrote it, Bruce just covered it. And quite well IMO. HA HA...

It is hard not to fall in love with him. He is up there with the great singer songwriters.

Maybe not so much here, the man's ACES! He used to play in Son Volt, seen him live with Farrar about 6 years ago now.... I guess Jay didn't need him, he's perfect in the 400 Watt. Maybe some headphones, I hear him great during the chorus.

@sonofapick have to disagree, this audience is Jason's and DBT's hometown audience. It's not that we don't know how good it is, respect it, and love it... it's just that we are used to it and are enjoying it and taking it in. I was at this show, upstairs in the balcony. It was during Handy week with a TON of other great music from our area going on.
