Dylan is not that great singer, but he had the lights for doing these incredibly poetic lyrics, what Jason could not do. Ever Vocally, good, but it couldn't pass my throat. It could have been much more ambitious, Dylan himself did great arrangements for every one of his songs, so why couldn't he do it? This was just a poor, stagnant version of the original. Not bad at all, but almost that. It took the brightness off the song I shal notice that Dylan's version is one of my all time favorite songs

Look... I'm a Dylan fan, and also an American Idol fan. When I saw someone did a Dylan song in AI, I thought: "Wow. Creative", but I knew that I would prefer the original, whatever song it was. And well... The folk Dylan. It's a hard point to get in. Not even himself likes his early years. I do, he always was a great songwriter, and doing protest songs was the spark he needed to get a great carreer. I'm sorry, but the original is way better
