The lyrics of this song were written by Phillip Brooks the minister who spoke at the Funeral of Abraham Lincoln. The lyrics of "O Little Town of Bethtlehem"were influenced by Phillip Brooks' visit to Bethlehem on December 24, 1865.

Jars of Clay's Christmas Songs album is the best Christmas album I have ever heard! I never thought I could like Christmas music so much! I immediately get in the Christmas spirit every time I listen to it!
