Without a doubt, my all time favorite Christmas song. Our 17 year old son, Adam, was a drummer. He and his friends had their group/band that played together and Adam was also our drummer on our praise and worship team at church. When this rendition was released in 1995 and I played it for Adam he replied; "Finally! You found one that I love! This is the best one ever!" Little did we know that just 7 months later it would be the final song that was played at Adam's funeral. In memory of Adam Shane Godwin ~ August 06, 1978 - May 12, 1996. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves Precious Memories no one can steal.What can I give Him, poor as I am? If I was a shepherd, I would bring a lamb. If I were a wise man, I would do my part. What can I give Him? I'll Give Him My Heart! "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." My favorite version of the song...love the thought of Jesus smiling (2:49) when we give ourselves to Him. It's not thru our deeds but GRACE we are saved. Sure does lighten the load when you come to understand this in life.
