Silje Nergaard (born 19 June 1966, Steinkjer, Norway) is a Norwegian pop and jazz musician.

While some of her old titles (e.g. "Si det, si det" from 1985 - a song which competed to represent Norway in that year's Eurovision Song Contest) have a distinct pop feel, she has now almost completely given up making pop music, and virtually the entirety of her later releases consists of jazz. With her debut album produced by Pat Metheny, Silje is one of few Norwegian artists to have been commercially released all around the globe, on most continents and major music markets including Japan, Brazil, Germany, U.S. and the United Kingdom.

Some years back, I stumbled across Silje's Nergaard's music by sheer accident in HMV Grafton St, Dublin. I asked the guy behind the counter, what the album (playing) was. I now have a few of Silje's albums, and she is my favourite femail artist. Her music has certainly diversified over the years (for the better of course !). Silje seems to hang out in Germany, Netherlands etc a lot. I hope she visits Ireland soon, because I would love to see her in concert. Keep up the great work Silje x
