Here is one of my favorites by Janie. It was a #2 song in 1981 (Columbia 11384). This has the correct song. I was a dope and stuck the wrong name on the video. :-)

you got that right the present "country singers " only think they can sing and of course there is their generation who think that way to but it does not make it so. oh for the old songs, old time, old days.

Oh how this song brings back memories of when I was a kid. If I'd only known then what I know now I would've appreciated being exposed to this kind of music more. I really didn't start to realize just how great this kind of music was untill in the early-mid 90's when the music started to take on a more pop sound, and I found myself wishing it sounded more like it used to. Here I am 15-20 years later and I'm still waiting. Thanks for the post guys, it's a fantastic song.

@simwrangler Most the crap they play on "country radio" is Pop-Country. It's play Pop music and put a slight twang in it and call it country music...And sometimes they don't even put the slight twang it.

@simwrangler I agree with you. Songs like this by wonderfully talented artist s like Janie are still alive as long as we keep in touch with them. Another super talented artist, who has kept it country all the way, through the years, is Gene Watson. We met him here at Renfro Valley where he and his band play each summer. If you want to hear a neat song check out Gene's song "There Ain't No Trash In My Trailer (Since The Day I Threw You Out Of Here". It's a whimsical song for sure. - Paula

Amen Sim Amen. Real country music is dead unless some record producer with vision and an eye for what people really want gets it together. Dont think it will happen but I hope I am wrong.
