My husband and I went to see your Aunt Janice for her Birthday this past Sunday, April 1st at the Nursing Home. We sang with friends and had a wonderful time. I would love to hear your singing as well.

A cover of the original recording on Columbia by Otto Cesana and his Orchestra with a vocal by an uncredited Joe Foley (they gave him another name on the disc jockey copies but didn't credit the vocal on the commercial release). Petula Clark covered it in Great Britain. Janice was a terrific talent but never could seem to find a niche. Her most famous record was the dramatic "Bon Voyage." One of her big supporters was the St. Louis d.j. Ed Bonner.

I've been hunting for this one. It seems that Petula Clark did a nice version that I got hold of, I wondered if anyone in the USA did this song and I was pointed to Janice Harper, but I've never run across this recording before.

Very pretty! What a strong, clear & lovely voice she had. What a shame she never became a bigger star. In any case, THANKS for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us! :)

Janice Harper is one good singer who was never given a real break. Do you happen to have her "LET THERE BE LOVE b/w I NEED YOU" single? It would be nice to hear it once more. Just great!!!
