This was a cover of Otto Cesana's original recording for Columbia. Actually, he did two recordings, one an instrumental and the other with a vocal by Jubilee records artist Joe Foley, who on the disc jockey copies got a phony name since he was under contract to Jubilee. Everyone expecte this record to break Janice Harper through to the big time but mysteriously it did not.

Janice Harper was a great singer! Bon voyage was a big hit and then she seemed to fade away what a pity.

one of the best songs by Janice Harper was hands across the sea 1958.Janice came too late for this kind of music. if she sang these songs between 1950-1955 she would have been much more popular.

I posted the lyrics...I don't know why Janis Harper was not more popular because her voice is perfect, her diction is perfect, on key, on time, every time. Just perfection. I wish she could have lived forever. Love you Janice
