Saw her at The Bijou in Philly, many years ago. What a wonderful concert, and I still enjoy her singing today. I live in S.C., now and would travel to Atlanta or Charlotte, if she had the mind to appear there...I'm just hinting.

She has a good voice, stage presence and apparently a loyal fan base. However, her sense of timing is either bad, capricious or just ostentatious, or a combination thereof. Anyway her timing or lack thereof shows a kind of disregard for the music as a harmonious piece. It's as if there's the band as backup for her and then she's the "Star" to be differentiated. Instead I would like to hear the same song with her voice being an instrument in collaboration with the other instruments playing together. I think that could be excellent!

I knew this song before I knew my wife, but it was not until after that I truly understood the song. And Jane's rendition is wonderful.

I agree. It is quite a lot far from the own soul of this John´s song.

I like this song performed by J. Denver much better! His words are clearer and addressed to audience. Sorry for Jane, she is too theatrical.

In about 1978, we saw Jane at the PAC in Milwaukee, WI. The audience would not let Jane leave the stage and kept asking for encores. After 4 curtain calls, she sat down on the edge of the stage and asked her conductor if he knew any more songs. He reminded her that they had just talked about recoding Annie's Song so she sang it to us. The house melted and then, she had to leave.

She has quite a haunting and beautiful voice ,she's a star not seeking stardom. A true lady!
