For me, mother tongue in Ojibway and lost it when I when to school and learned the English language. As of now, I am learning Spanish and German. Languages always loose words and gain new words to replace that to make the selected language make sense. And to be honest, Ojibway was/is in its early stages of a language. So if languages were to add new words they will grow like English, Spanish, Japanese and more. Plus if you are not interested in the language, of course the language will die off.Ich sprehe Deutsch, Spanish, Englisch und Ojibway.Yo hablo aleman, espanñol, ingles y ojibway.I speak German, Spanish, English, and Ojibway.Nîkîkit German, Spanish, Šâkâšîmô sikwa Onakawêwinᓃᑮᑭᐟ German, Spanish, ᔖᑳᔒᒨ ᓯᑿ ᐅᓇᑲᐍᐏᐣ᙮Sikwa mînikê, nîhânišinâpe anti Canata. ᓯᑿ ᒦᓂᑫ, ᓃᐦᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯ ᐊᐣᑎ ᒐᓇᑕ᙮ [Exact Translation] And yes, I am a Anishinabe from Canada. And I proud to be me. lol

I found this on utube and fell in love with the whole dvd, so went out and bought it for myself. Beautiful voice....do you have anything in Shoshone or Bannock? I'm Shoshone Indian and my mother is from Ft. Hall Reservation in Fort Hall, Idaho. Thank you,

Well the problem with native peoples language is that it is not being passed down to our future generations. Merely my opinion.

Sounds really beautiful. I think it's interesting that other people are criticizing about modernizing the language, when it's actually amazing to hear it at all. You're doing a good thing. It's not widely spread, and there's not much music to be found on the internet that represents native languages, so thanks for sharing.

We don't have this many words in our language :/ I found this interesting, as my grandmother who is fluent in out language, know it hasn't been modernized, it's very traditional so, having to hear this, makes me wonder how much of our language has been lost in many parts of Canada.
