Everything to do with the environment, is in (only) Human terms. meaning we don't care about the other living things. meaning we need to realize we need everything else living here. but Human beings never Learn ;)

Are you sure my freind? do you seriously think the Black American sound of Stevie Wonder, Gambel and Huff, Quincy Jones ect was invented by Jamiroquai? cmon man!

I Agree. I grew up in the Disco era watching Soul Train and i can pick out all the copying and influences as well. Anyone who calls this band unique was either not born in the 70s or knows little or nothing about the Funk. Having said that you gotta admit they are good though.

I was a Jazzfunkateer in the 70s and the vast bulk of their stuff IS copied and not just similar. I recognise at least 80% of their grooves from the pre disco and disco years. Take a listen to Idris Mohammed's Can heaven ever be like this or turn this motha out for eg. Listen to Donald Byrd, Herbie Hancock, Deodato ect . They have straight copied/sampled/re-arranged grooves from countless soul acts like Stevie Wonder, Patrice Rushen, the SoS band, Prince, the list goes on....

I think copies is the correct word. Everyone who knows 70s funk is aware of that. Their early sound is full of straight copies of Stevie Wonder, Roy ayres, Idris Mohammed and the Mizzel Brothers sound. They copy basslines, guitar rifts from loads of 70s soul bands. Try the bassline from celebrate by EWF for starters.

I think the word you were looking for was influenced, NOT copies.

honestly i dont care about lyrics much. as long as they are not all too stupid and monotone. i listen to music for the music.

It's called GENRE, not because a song is similar or has a similar rhythm doesn't mean it's a copy.
