Not to take anything away from the incomparable James Taylor ... I understand this song was written by JT's friend John Sheldon.

This Guy is CHINESE UNDERDOG

Year 2000. I was then an undergraduate, unemployed and suffered sickness, shame and humiliation. I always play on s cassette tape JT on stereo just to feel reality. Back then i only knew 10 JT songs. Then i found out about JT's heroin addiction. But listening to his songs i did saw a reformed JT. I aspired the same through out the years. Now these JT songs continue to be an insparation. Thank u JT!

I admit I'm an early-days fan of JT but I still remember 1st time I heard this song, having a coffee and chatting with colleagues .. then all a sudden from those lousy loud-speakers.. this wave of serenity, peace adn sweet memories just cought my mind. Unbelievable.. I was not "there" any more.. I was running on those green fields of my teen-ager sorroundings listening to those September wind.. laying down on that September grass.. thank you once again..JT !

Wonderful Music from a Living Legend!

Wow. In 1972 I was 12 and heard James for the first time (Fire and Rain). Then I dug "You've Got A friend" and in 1976 when "JT" came out and I heard that album, then I fell HARD for his music. I mean he was my favorite singer and remains my favorite. I have got it so bad that when I broke both legs in 1979 I bought "Flag" and memorized every word while I was in the hospital and even wrote him a "Fan letter" (Me, a 19 yr old boy!). From then on I couldn't wait to get every album he made and it stayed that way all through the 80's, and the 90's. I learned almost every song of his on guitar. I went to see him every time he came to SF. "Hourglass" (IMHO) was an absolute MASTERPIECE. EVery song on that album is incredible. But this album, for some reason I just cannot get next to.It is his first album in thirrty years that I did not buy. Weird huh? Just don't know but for whatever reason it just doesn't grab me. I really wish it did.

If this song doesn't make you "lie down" nothing will. It's great as everything his man sings is. I think I'll play it again just to calm me and my grandchildren down. JT was great when i came this country in '69 and he's still AWESOME now..
