Here's a brief but electrifying performance from JT with the song "Lonesome Road". Old favourites David Lasley and Arnold McCuller on BGVs and Elvis Costello looking on in wonderment.

Enjoy...

Beautiful. Saw JT at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney during the 1980s they sang this and you could hear a pin drop.

Quinn79 mentions it before, but all the more poignant because JT wrote it to sing at John Belushi's funeral.

Elouise, this song is from "Dad Loves His Work" published in 1981. Later on, a live version appeared on "Live" double CD.

There was a time I'd set aside my instruments ... late evening ... to sing this. If I'd listened to this fucking yuppie lick-dick suck-balls performance, I'd have swallowed my tongue on the spot. p.s. that chick was flat. painfully lame performance. pure self-congratulatory yuppie crap.

*Avant propos:* I was really nasty in this post. I'll let it stand, because it is just what it is. Not that I'm happy at having lost my temper. The way folk on TY gushed compliments sent me postal.====There was a time I'd set aside my instruments ... late evening ... to sing this.If I'd listened to this fucking yuppie lick-dick suck-balls performance, I'd have swallowed my tongue on the spot.p.s that stunned twat was flat ... (Pitch, asshole, not boobs.) ... flat. FFS.

Cannot believe they got this blend performing live! Have been listening to this and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and now feel my idea of the afterlife is "pleasing the Lord" by getting to sing glorious choral music like this (and, of course, Thomas Tallis) Incredible vid!

It is very nice but if you heard the studio version it would hit even harder.
