This song is from Taylor's '72 album, "One Man Dog," & was a singles hit for him in '72, peaking at #3 on the US adult contemporary chart. Not sure what The Meters have to do with it. Maybe I missed a previous thread? It seems clear from Zeppolino100's post that he's referring to the original release of this song, i.e., James Taylor's 1972 album and single. I personally think JT's voice has actually improved since his younger days; richer with more character, but that's obv just my opinion.

Don't wanna hurt anyones feelings-specially peaceful music lovers: but, when you refer to original, you CANT mean 'the meters' out of New Orleans ? If so, and you still stick by your original comment-then i'm wasting everyones time ~ your clearly listening to the singer as opposed to the song? Am i missing the point.....
