This an incredible song neglected in 62 and one never hears it since then so why? It is a rousing song great in all aspects of hit making. I do NOT recall hearing it back then when my ears were fascinated with my transistor radio and was buying records so maybe in my area this song did not receive much airplay; anyway, what a song!!! Easily in the Top 20 of that year if not Top 10 !

Hokey as all getup! I loved him as an actor, but this song and "Goodbye Cruel World" were like sandpaper on an open wound. Oh well, these songs were a damned sight better than what's offered by today's so-called pop talents.

My buddy and I were trying to think of songs James had as hits and we couldn't hardly think of anything but "Her Royal Majesty". A great song by the way and Huntley your dad did a great job engineering this song. James was a multi talented guy. Thanks for posting this.

i think they genuinely like the music more often times than not. They are too thick headed and set in their ways to listen to our music (the oldies) but i've learned there are a lot of people who still like oldies and good music. fallout has shown me that :P

I'm 13 years old. I actually listen to GOOD songs like this. I hate people who think that they have to listen to certain songs to be cool.

On this date in 1962 {Feb. 3rd} "Her Royal Majesty" entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; eventually it would peak at No. 6 and spent a total of 11 weeks in the Top 100...

James Darren was a good singer and had a couple of hit records but his Good looks and acting talent took him to Hollywood and the rest is Motion pictures and TV history. In 1963, while at a lunchonette hangout for us teenagers in Magnolia,N.J. Jimmy came in wearing dungarees and ordered a hoagie. We watched him leave and he crossed the street to his parents house and cut the grass. I walked over and talked with him,he was very polite and after that he'd wave to us when he visited his family.
