Johnnie Jenkins did not write These Arms of Mine, this was written by Otis Redding, his first song recorded at Stax Studio, when he drove Johnnie Jenkins to Stax for a recording, but Mr. Jenkins did not do well on his recording. Otis Redding kept bugging Al, the drummer that he wanted to sing his song, These Arms of Mine. So Otis was given a chance to sing, and These Arms of Mine was recorded right on the spot because it was so good.
