I dig it. Super catchy, and the lyrics aren't dumb. Love the second verse, particularly: "Hit the waffle house for some real food, but that waitress she's real rude; she's got real problems, but we do too, so we tip her anyway." You don't hear a lot of that kind of stuff in mainstream country. Tons of 90s influence (never a bad thing), though I will say parts of the melody feel dangerously close to Milky Chance's "Stolen Dance" (not an obscure song by any means).

Jake Owen is a musician, douchebags. He's not just a "country singer". He writes and sings these songs as he's inspired to do so. Do you expect him to always wanna sing the same "country" sound? Do you only listen to one type of music? Do your feelings and thoughts never go to other things? He's human, and he's awesomely talented. If you don't like this song or the non-country sound of it, listen to his older stuff. I personally love all of his sounds, because I'm a huge fan of Jake; not just country music. Get your head out of your ass.

Awesome new song from my Florida neighbor Jake Owen. Per Billboard Magazine this song was the best performance song at the 2015 CMT awards and I totally agree with them.
