I bought this album when new, so this was the version I prefer. I heard it quite awhile before I heard the Eagles version. I have that album also. You can tell JB and the Eagles used to hang out. The influence on their albums are amazing.

Sneaky Pete (pedal steel) was a member of the original Flying Burrito Bros. along with Gram Parson and Bernie Leadon (later of the Eagles), playing that "Cosmic American Music" which was a mixture of American country-western, folk, blues, soul, R 'n B, and rock & roll. I love this version of Take It Easy. Two great tracks by both the writers, Browne & Glen Frey (Eagles).

A great song.... Jackson Browne was brilliant, but Sneaky Pete on steel was the definitive part of the song for me. RIP Pete.

Frey onl finished one verse, as I heard it. I've always thought that The Eagles were too bland. Kind of like Bela Fleck's version of Bluegrass is bland.

6 people can't take it easy, apparently! :) I love Jackson Browne. Reminds me of my mom every time! My parents went to a show many years ago and had backstage passes;my mom received a kiss on the cheek from Mr. Browne that night!
