Jackson Browne - "Something Fine" (February 2011) video free download
After the Fretboard Journal interviewed Jackson Browne for their latest issue (Fretboard Journal #22), we asked if he'd play a tune for us. The result is this amazing version of "Something Fine" performed on his cherished Gibson Roy Smeck Stage Deluxe guitar.

Tuned down a half step in drop-G tuning, when you first play these wonderful chords it's like gently engaging the lever on that movie 19th century time machine. Saw his show last night in Providence, RI. Three hours! Awestruck. He very plainly indicated that he had no set list and asked the audience to call out requests. We were fortunate to be in the third row and I asked for this song - my favorite. He smiled and pointed at my wife and me, retrieved this very guitar (from about two dozen on stage racks!) and he sang it beautifully, a highlight for me from one of my favorite performers.
