from the 1986 Asylum Lp 60457-1 Lives In The Balance produced by Jackson Browne and written by Jackson Browne. A nice song with great words and a nice arraigment of keyboards , guitars, drums and great vocals. This another example of that great 80's songs and is one of the best songs from the album. This vinyl version beats the CD version with that great crisp LP sound.

The title track summed up the politics of the 80's Re: the Central American situations.... & with the slightest twist of lyric is JUST as, if not more relevant today. A GREAT LP.

I bought this album when it came out. The WHOLE album is Great.= unlike at the time when they made you pay 15 bucks for one song and the rest of the album was Filler.

I posted this a few moments ago and it has seemed to disappear. When I write something so inspirational it will be hard to recreate but I'll try. First of all, I've never posted anything online. No disrespect intended, but I have a life. But this is worth my time. When I was a little girl my dad had us every Sunday from two until six, but he never showed up. We would wait with our noses pressed to the glass counting cars and looking for his but usually he never showed. When he did however, he had in his 8 track tape of Jackson Browne playing. There was never any communication between us while he drove us to our grandmother's house (who we loved more than anything) but I can remember thinking WOW! what an artist. Now that I'm a gospel singer and songwriter I look on his videos and am blown away by the fact that this man's passion for music and playing hasn't changed, not to mention the fact he still sounds the same! How do you sound the same? I know as a singer I'm always jogging and deep breathing because I'm no spring chicken myself! It takes hard work and commitment. There are a few artists when I'm down (which I am right now) that I will go to to lift my spirits or inspire me to write and I'm thankful he's one of them. Written from a Grateful Soul, Gospel Girl, XOXO

this song would be perfect at the end of an 80's romantic comedy. i'm thinking, the guy goes to the airport to stop the girl from getting on a plane. he yells her name as she is lining up to board. they run to each other and kiss. as they are walking out of the airport to their happy ever after, this song starts as credits slowly begin to roll.

Lyrics: "There was a hole left in the wallFrom some ancient fightAbout the size of a fistOr something thrown that had missedAnd there were other holes as wellIn the house where our nights fellFar too many to repairIn the time that we were there"His wife committed suicide. This is is song, peace to him.
