i don't get this song at all. We aren't entitled to isn't the same as we don't deserve, to take the last lines, and many other contradictions. To be entitled to - for all words' meanings come from common parlance, not strict dictionary definition - is to have a right to which nobody and nothing should stand in the way; to deserve is to be worthy of, not necessarily to get. Nobody deserves to die, for instance, but we all do; everybody is entitled to live forever doesn't have the same meaning at all as everybody deserves to live. I get that he's playing on the differences and similarities between words; between feelings; that someone else's entitlement to something blocks your entitlement to it, because they got it... but he wastes so much time on word play, that he fails to make a single coherent point. Saying that everyone who stops you doing anything must be jealous and bitter is a stretch only the most committed freudian could make, but at least is a coherent point, the one i think he's after. Oh well
