These two really should do an album together before it's too late! :-)

Such a great song. Paul McCartney, like Ricky Bobby later on, pissed excellence.

Very suitable combination. I think McCartney intended this composition to sound American, folksy... Simon goes perfectly on this one.

I WAS THERE!!!! June 14, 2001. There were about 600-650 people there. I heard about it on Larry King Show and called and donated to Adopt a Minefield ( $500), for the benefit gala. They wouldn't allow video cameras. I have a lot of still photos. I was surrounded by celebrities! Steve Stills, Gary Busey, Jay Leno, Whoopi, Penny Marshall, Larry King, Steven Segal, and many more. It was just after Paul started seeing Heather Mills. It was one of the best nights of my life!!! Some man at my table just flew in for the dinner from New York, got autographs, and left. Our table was the last one to be served dinner and the lights dimmed..... need I say more? It was such a thrill to see Paul McCartney and Paul Simon....

More like the other way around. The S&G sound didn't really come until Sounds of Silence album, released after Rubber Soul. Wednesday Morning LP doesn't have any Rubber Soul sound and was virtually unknown until Sounds of Silence was released, more like the Kingston Trio. Sounds of Silence released Jan 1966, Rubber Soul Dec. 65. The song Sound of Silence was recast on that album to sound more like the Beatles. Even Paul Simon would admit it.
