2 years ago a friend of mine sent me this theme on my cellphone...by that time I knew nothing about Naruto but I still loved this song immediately and listened to A LOT.A month ago I began watching the anime, and Itachi became my absolute favorite character and now I am here at this very moment, realizing the song I've heard sooo much was his theme all along...Wow :D really kind of feels like I "know" him longer that I actually do

There must have been *one* other shinobi you could have given it to, one who wouldn't bend over because they thought they heard a breeze.Seriously. The Uchiha have a legitimate grievance, and you ignore it. They notice that you ain't doing shit, and they decide that if you aren't representing the Uchiha, they don't feel like letting you keep your fancy hat.That's fair, you should be doing your bloody job. They're one of the founding clan, *put some effort* into keeping the village in one bloody piece.No? You'd rather sit back, leave the idea making to one of your best ninja, Shunshin no Shisui? Sounds reasonable. He's skilled, he holds the will of fire in his heart, he's trustworthy, and he's even an Uchiha! That's a great plan!Why aren't you doing that? Why are you still listening to Danzo, who makes a habit of attacking your best and most useful ninja for personal power, instead of flattening him? He is literally a *traitor to the leaf*, why are you following his advice? Why, Hiruzen?Why would you stand there and listen to one of your most loyal and skilled young shinobi beg for his younger brother's life? You go out for ramen with Naruto instead, and you never even think of introducing the two of them, trying to give two lonely young boys a friend each, cementing their loyalty and teamwork. You're too busy failing to delegate and listening to the advice of a traitor and two idiots.Your foreign policy is nearly as pathetic, Hiruzen. Kumogakure attempts to kidnap the heir of Konoha's other great clan of the eyes, the Hyūga, under the pretence of a diplomatic mission. Fortunately, the Hyūga prevent this travesty and uphold the strength of Konoha.Kumo protests, of course, but everyone knows that Konohagakure no Sato, the first great ninja village, won't just bend over at the whim of a village it *defeated* in the last war. Even if you lost the Yondaime, you can't afford to look weak. Rather, it's *because* you lost the Yondaime that you can't look weak. If the other villages think that Konoha is weak, they'll walk all over you. You don't have the manpower for another war, and with the loss of the Uchiha, your ANBU are pulling double duty as police. You can't spare them. You don't have a trained Jinchūriki, either, and they all have at least one.You'll have to return the demand with a strongly worded letter telling the Raikage to go fuck himself.Or you could capitulate, and kill a skilled, loyal ninja of the leaf for no gain. This is what you chose, Hiruzen? This is how you want the leaf to be known? Rotten to the root, and weaker than kindling?Is that the will of fire?At every stage, Hiruzen, you have failed in your every duty. At every stage, the village would have been better off with a different Hokage. You were weak. You were indecisive. You were led around by your advisers, as if they had an equal vote.Is *that* what a Hokage should be? A *figurehead*, a bloody *puppet* to sign paperwork!?On one matter Danzo was correct, Hiruzen. You should never have taken up the hat again. You were too *weak*.Of course, this could not have been your fault alone, Hiruzen. He was justified, when he decided to wipe it off the face of the map. He had every reason to call Konoha his enemy, because Sarutobi Hiruzen was behind everything bad that ever happened to him. It's a pity that Itachi was loyal beyond death, and willing to try and convince his brother to forgive Konoha for taking *everything* from them both. It's a pity that Sasuke never had a chance to get his vengeance on you, Hiruzen, because you truly deserve it.It's a pity that Naruto never learned to listen to someone he called a friend, ignoring Sasuke's feelings and shouting false equivalency after false equivalency while trying to drag Sasuke back to that den of vipers.It's a pity that Naruto never learned proper empathy, instead assuming that everyone thought the same way as him. It's a pity that Naruto never learned any of the lessons that Pain tried to teach him, instead shouting about how "Never giving up will overcome the way the world works".It's a pity that the Kyūbi was just putting up a front, rather than holding a genuinely different view of the world that Naruto might have been forced to deal with. It's a pity that all of the tailed beasts turned out to just be misunderstood.It's a pity that Naruto learned nothing from what Konoha and his precious people did to Itachi.It's a pity that Naruto learned nothing from Obito, and what it feels like to lose a friend. It's a pity that Naruto didn't even think of what his dream would take from other people, and how everyone has people precious to them. It's a pity that not even Neji's death was enough to pull Naruto out of his narcissistic attention seeking bullshit.It's a pity that no one's called him out on that bullshit.It's a pity that Naruto learned nothing from Madara and Hashirama, and their utter failure to attain peace. It's a pity he never learned the principle of cycles, of how patterns inevitably repeat.It's a pity that more than fifteen years and becoming Hokage couldn't tame his bravado, leaving him a man who'd lie to children to make himself look better. It's a pity he never learned to control his emotions.It's a pity that Naruto never learned anything other than stubbornness, and that Sasuke lost to him.And it's a pity that no one ever called Hiruzen out for being responsible for all of that.Madara aside, and even he had a legitimate grievance at the beginning, Sarutobi Hiruzen was responsible for everything that went wrong pre-shippuden, and for most of what happened before the Fourth Great War.
